The are more than four factors affecting buying a diamond ring and they include Cut, Clarity, Colour, Carat, weight,Transparency and Treatment Status(untreated or treated).
Cut Quality: The diamonds cut should show a good brilliance and sparkle. Diamond shapes are important as well your Personality type as well.

• Emerald: Rectangle stones with cropped corners.
• Asscher: Like a princess cut stone
Clarity: Most diamonds contain distinct birthmarks called inclusions (internal) and blemishes (external). Diamonds without these clarity attributes are rare – and rarity translates to higher cost when buying diamonds.
The Gemological Institute of America, GIA, Clarity Grades ranges from Flawless to Included (I3).

Carat:Diamonds are weighed in carats with one carat weighing about the same as a paper clip, or 0.2 grams.
